The talayots date back to 1,500 BC and belong to two clearly characterized types: circular talayots and square talayots. The first are the most abundant, they are circular in plan, ranging between eight and seventeen meters in diameter. The square talayots have a more or less square floor plan, two of their walls facing the solstices or their lunar equivalents, between ten and eleven meters. Their spatial location also characterizes them: while circular talayots can be found in towns, isolated square talayots are practically always integrated into ceremonial centers.

The only astronomical observatory on the island is currently closed but we hope to reopen its doors soon as it was a space where you can enjoy astronomy and the immense outer space and its wonders as a couple or as a family.
